Albert Ernest Hain was born on March 15, 1949, in Seward to Albert Joseph and Georgia Eleanor (Hottovy) Hain and passed away on September 4, 2017, in Omaha at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 20 days. Al grew up in the Brainard and Dwight area where he attended grade school at Assumption Catholic School in Dwight and graduated from Aquinas High School with the Class of 1967. He then enlisted into Air National Guard on August 17, 1967 and was discharged on November 15, 1978.
On December 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to Loreen Dorothy Wemhoff in Humphrey, Nebraska. To this union the couple had four children. Al worked at Shanahan's in Valparaiso, Wentz Plumbing in Lincoln and later for Steam Fitters Union 464 for 15 years where he retired in 2012. Al enjoyed fishing, watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting events. He was a lover of nature and astronomy. Al loved helping family and friends whenever needed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Lawrence J. and Angela Wemhoff, two nieces: Katie Hain, Rhonda Johnson and brother-in-law Louie Euteneuer.
Al is survived by his wife Loreen, Wahoo, four children and their spouses: Terri Griffin and husband Bob, Lincoln, Lori McKeighan, Omaha, Rob Hain and wife Jodi, Lincoln, Nicole Hain, Omaha; nine grandchildren: Monica, Paige, Noah, Trent, Zach, Sienna, Emma, Elizabeth and Parker; one great grandson: Spencer; five siblings: Delores Berck and husband Burdette, Shelby, David Hain and wife Dee, Fremont, Barbara Mayer and husband Paul, Spearfish, SD; Dianne Bush and husband Rusty, Utica, and Glenn Hain and wife Theresa, Seward; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Al.
