Obituary

Albina Rose Sisel was born on June 22, 1919, to Albert and Albina (Fiala) Cihal in Moorhead, Minnesota and passed away on March 3, 2012, in David City, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 10 days. The family moved to Nebraska when Albie was a young girl. She attended school in Seward County. As a youth, she sang in the choir in the Seward Catholic Church. After her school years, she worked as a housekeeper for several families in Butler and Seward counties, and prior to her marriage she was working in Lincoln in that capacity. Albie was united in marriage on March 26, 1940, to Cyril M. Sisel at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight, Nebraska. The couple farmed east of Dwight until 1976 then they retired and moved into Dwight. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and caring for her family, always making sure that her guests were well fed. Albie wrote letters faithfully to her sister, Emma in California and to Cyril's five brothers while they served their country in the military during W.W.II. She also loving listening to music, dancing with Cyril and in their younger years they liked to watch Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby and of course listening and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. She and Cyril enjoyed going to movies and playing cards. Albie was a long time member of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Albie was a resident of St. Joseph's Villa since October 2006. While there, she was a candidate for the 2011 Valentine's Day Queen. Preceding Albie in death was her beloved husband; Cyril on August 3, 2000, her parents; sister, Emma Cihal Greenwald; brother, Albert Cihal. She is survived by her son, Bud and wife Donna Sisel of Dwight, NE; daughters, Beverly and husband Lad Dolezal of Lincoln, NE; and Monica and husband Lawrence Polivka of Bruno, NE; seven grandchildren; Randy and Sue Dolezal, Russ and Brenda Dolezal, Shelly and Ed Trojan, Becky and Brian Roseland, Ryan Sisel and special friend Brenda, Larry and Mandie Polivka, Erin Kay and Tim Pelan, 15 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight, NE; with Father Jerel Scholl and Father Ronald Homes concelebrating. Burial will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Dwight, NE; Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward, NE; Visitation will resume from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Masses or to the Sisel Family.
