Ann Monica (Svoboda) Hain was born January 4, 1920 on a farm near Appleton, Nebraska to John Joseph and Mary Josephine (Bartunek) Svoboda and passed away at her home in Seward, Nebraska on December 10, 2009 at the age of 89 years, 11 months, 6 days. Ann was united in marriage to Hubert Thomas Hain on February 5, 1946 at Appleton Catholic Church, north of David City. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Ken, Mary Ann, Theresa, Brenda and Randy. They farmed in and around Bee until 1965 when they moved to Seward. Ann was employed for 25 years with Sundermann Nursing Home in Seward. She enjoyed sewing, baking, making Czech food and taking her grandchildren shopping. Ann was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and Altar Society, Catholic Workmen and AARP.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert T. Hain in 1988; her parents, John J. and Mary Svoboda; granddaughter, Tracy Mills O'Dell; brothers and sister-in-law, Victor Svoboda, William and Eleanor Svoboda and her sister, Mary Svoboda.
Ann is survived by her children and spouses, Ken and Alette Hain of Lincoln, Mary Ann and Larry Schwaderer of Lincoln, Theresa and Bob Mills of Seward, Brenda Hain of Seward, Randy and Deb Hain of Seward; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie T. Hain, Seward, Delores Hain, Seward, Rose and Tony Samek, David City and Marie Jirovsky, Seward; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Ann.
