Annabelle Marie "Jackie" (Jaax) Prochaska was born July 14, 1939 in Columbus, Nebraska the daughter of Hubert and Anna (Schrier) Jaax and passed away surrounded by her family on January 21, 2014 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 6 months, 7 days. Jackie was a 1957 graduate of Shelby High School. On June 14, 1958 Jackie was united in marriage to John R. Prochaska in Shelby, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Ron J. Denise, Nancy, and Carol. They lived most of their married life in the Dwight, Nebraska area; in 1988 they moved to David City. Jackie was a former member of Dwight Assumption Catholic Church and a current member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Jackie was a charter member of Dwight American Legion Post No. 110 Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, gardening and loved talking with her grandchildren. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Anna Jaax; son-in-law, Jeff Abel and her husband, John R. Prochaska in 2010. Jackie is survived by her children and spouses, Ron J. and Linda Prochaska, Dwight, Denise and Ernie Buresh, Dwight, Nancy Prochaska, Friend, Carol and Dean Fiala, Wahoo; grandchildren, Megan and husband Doug Heiser, Nate Prochaska and friend Ali Steuer, Matt Prochaska, A.J. and wife Valerie Buresh, Chris Buresh and fiance Holly Claussen, Jenna and husband Don Lange, Lacey and husband Tyson Wren, Kelsey Buresh, Jamie, Derek and Shauna Fiala; great-grandchildren, Nicole Buresh, Logan Buresh, Brittney Buresh, Austin Buresh, Jacob Lange, Hailey Buresh, Hannah Buresh and a host of friends.
