Anne was born July 17, 1920 on the family farm north of Clarkson, NE; to Jerry James and Anna Frances (Podany) Lodl. She was the second oldest for four children.
Anne married Louis Joseph Sedlak, a farmer and cattle feeder, on June 28, 1969 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Valparasio, NE. Louis and Anne spent their entire married life on the family farm northwest of Bee, NE.
Anne spent most of her early years on the family farm north of Clarkson. She attended rural school, District No. 49. Continuing her education by entering her first year of high school in Clarkson then transferring to Howells High School for the last three years from where she was a graduated. She played the bass tuba in the high school band. She taught 3 years in school in Cuming and Platte counties. Anne attended classes at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She also attended the Omaha CE School of Commerce where she prepared for her railroad career studying morse code telegraphy, coping telegrams, office work, train orders and train work. After graduating, Anne went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad where she was employed for 38 years in Wyoming and Nebraska divisions.
Anne enjoyed being with family and friends, reading, baking, music, dancing, traveling and embroidering. Anne was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, St. Wenceslaus Alter Society, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch #32 and served on the funeral committee for 20 years in Bee.
Survivors include one brother, Jerry J. Lodl, 8 nieces and nephews, Marlene Smith, Orlando, FL; David Yonda (Kathi Behrnes) of Octavia, NE; Anna Marie Reilly (Dan) of Ventura, CA; Jim Joe Lodl, Ventura, CA; Duane Pavel (Kyle Misner) of Rock Port, MO; Sharon Trofholz (Gary) of Columbus, NE; Judy Foltz (Dean) of Columbus, NE; 20 Great nieces and nephews and 31 great, great nieces and nephews.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis on November 28, 2007, two sisters and their spouses, Adella and Frank Yonda, Angela and Frank Helman, brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Mae Pavel, nephew, Jerry Joe Lodl.
