Anton A. Lutringer was born on September 19, 1928, in Taiton, Texas to Elo and Emilie (Moeller) Lutringer and passed away on March 22, 2012, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 3 days. He grew up in South Texas and graduated from Junior College with plumbing and air conditioning in Wharton, Texas. Tony worked in the oil fields as a doodle bugger and on large oil rigs in the crow's nest. On December 21, 1950, he married Emma Arline Schnell at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sidney, Nebraska. After their marriage, Tony lived and worked on the St. George Ranch in Sidney from 1952 to 1969 for his father-in-law farming and raising black angus herds of cattle as well as 40 head of milk cows with a brother-in-law. The couple moved to Seward in 1969, where he worked at Concordia University for 10 years and the Southeast Community College in Milford for 17 years before retiring on July 14, 1994. Tony was very active in church and community, L.L.L. and served as a school board member, Treasurer and Youth Counselor with his wife at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sidney and also Trustee and Elder at St. John Lutheran in Seward for many years. Tony did plumbing on the side for many years in Seward and surrounding areas. He loved to help many people wherever needed. His favorite saying was "If the Good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise". Tony is survived by his wife Emma Lutringer, five children, Alvin and wife Barb Lutringer of Plainview, MN; Steven and wife Anita Lutringer of Mesa, AZ; Julie and husband Kelly Conner of Seabrook, TX; Janell and husband Ron Westimayer of Minocqua, WI; Janice and husband John Fletcher of Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren, Jeremy Lutringer, Anne & Don Borgschatz, Kenneth Keelin, Sarah Sparks-Patzner, Billie Jo Keelin, Rachel Holton, Adam Fletcher, Ryan Fletcher, Larry Fletcher, Anton Keelin and Candace, Betsy Slaughter, Katie and William Roark, Frankie and Mollie Slaughter, Laura and Steven Leonard, Amanda Slaughter, Sarah Bradley, 28 great grandchildren, two sisters, Elizabeth and husband Cyril Adamcik of Angleton, TX; Anna Faas of El Campo, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elo and Emilie Lutringer; parents-in-law, G. George and Julia Schnell, son-in-law T. William Keelin, brother-in-law, John Faas and a niece and nephew.
