Ardella Lavaun Bredwell was born July 30, 1927 in Kearney County, Nebraska the daughter of Frank O. and Emma (Driscoll) Rundquist and passed away on February 26, 2014 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 6 months, 27 days. She attended rural school in Kearney County and was a 1944 graduate of Minden High School and received her BA in Education from Kearney State in 1948. Ardella taught home economics in Cozad, Curtis and Louisville, NE. Ardella was united in marriage to Robert William Bredwell on June 29, 1952 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minden. The couple resided in Cozad after their marriage where they were blessed with three children, Roger, Marla and Tom. The family moved to Utica, Nebraska in 1962. Ardella was a substitute teacher in the Cozad and Centennial (Utica) School Districts. She was a member of the Utica United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women; she was also a member of the Willing Workers Homemakers Club and active with the Utica Senior Center where she had served as the manager for many years. She was a former member of the Utica American Legion Auxiliary. Ardella is preceded in death by her parents, Frank O. and Emma Rundquist; her husband Robert Bredwell in 2002; daughter-in-law, Chere Bredwell and brother-in-law, Bill Wells. Ardella is survived by her children, Roger Bredwell and Tanja Nielsen, Polk, Marla and Paul Checketts, Eagle and Tom and Tina Bredwell, Gresham; grandsons, Patrick Checketts, Seward and Travis Checketts, Albuquerque, NM; her sister, Ardyce Wells, Marinette, WI; cousins and a host of friends.
