Obituary

Ardith Marie Roebke was born on November 11, 1934, in Seward to Henry and Amanda (Ahrens) Vollstedt and passed away on February 5, 2018, in Seward at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 25 days. She grew up on the family farm one mile north of Garland. Ardith was baptized on December 2, 1934 and later confirmed on March 21, 1948, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Garland. She attended and graduated from Garland High School with the Class of 1952. After high school she had various jobs in Lincoln before beginning at Banker's Life where she worked for 10 years.

On August 22, 1965, she was united in marriage to Norman William Roebke at Zion Lutheran Church, Garland. She was a homemaker and mother to their three children and also farmed right beside Norman. Ardith was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aide; she enjoyed being part of the Blue Valley Quilters Guild and the doll club. After Norman passed away she volunteered at Et-cetera. Ardith loved her family, grandchildren and the farm. She also enjoyed going to auctions as well as antique and quilt shows.

Ardith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman on June 6, 2003; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Lois Vollstedt; sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Melvin Schildt; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nora and Rudolph Schroeder; sister-in-law, Gladys Roebke; brother-in-law, Marvin Nelson.

Ardith is survived by her 3 three children, Kathie Klein and husband Norman, Bee, Marlene Rieck and husband Mike, Eagle River, WI, Galen Roebke and wife Julie, Seward; six grandchildren, Samuel Klein and wife Stacey, Sarah Klein, Steven Rieck, Amanda Rieck, Hannah Roebke, Nathan Roebke; three great granddaughters, Bailey Mooney, Alexis Klein, Kourtney Klein; sister-in-law, Darlene Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 1:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Garland with Rev. Louis E. Griser officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Roebke family for future designations.
