Arthur Jerome Arnt was born December 15, 1945 to Stanley and Marcella (Hinsverk) Arnt in Williston, ND. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was raised in Williston and graduated with the class of 1964. Following graduation he attended Williston Extension Center (Williston State College),spent one year traveling in Norway and was then drafted into the Army. He received the Purple Heart after being injured by shrapnel while serving in Vietnam; he was also awarded a bronze star.
On August 15, 1971 he was united in marriage to Nancy Bergstrom. Together they had three children. In 1971, he attended college at UND in Grand Forks, ND graduating with a degree in Business Administration. While at UND, Art became interested in flying and earned his pilots license. At one time he owned his own plane and for several years he enjoyed flying to many different destinations. He also had a love of music playing trombone in his high school band, singing in the high school choir and also his church choir. He enjoyedplaying his guitar and singing for anyone who would listen.
He worked in Pennsylvania, Colorado and North Dakota before settling in Nebraska. While attending his 30th class reunion for WHS he became reacquainted with Bobbi Jo Rieder and on December 23, 1994 they were married in Lincoln NE. Together they continued to operate his established business Radiant Heating Systems, Inc.He and Bobbi Jo also enjoyed life on their hobby farm. Arthur was a good natured, friendly, compassionate guy with a kind heart and a gift of gab. He was loyal to his friends and loved and respected by those whose lives he touched. He was diagnosed with cancer and lost his courageous battle on October 1, 2010. Surviving Arthur are his wife, Bobbi Jo of Seward NE; daughter, Jennifer Arnt of Denver CO; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary Arnt of Shanghai, China and Weiting Chang and their son, Jesse of Taibei Taiwan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Jim Johnson of Highland, CA, Sharon and Herb Schwarz of Garrison, ND; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Peggy Arnt of Williston, ND; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Marcie Arnt, and his son Trevor, and his grandaughter Annabelle Arnt.
