Barbara Anita (Hanson) Brazell was the only daughter of Carl Emil and Segred Elizabeth Hanson. She was born January 27, 1921 in Essex, Iowa and passed away on May 20, 2011 in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 3 months, 24 days. She attended the Essex Public School, graduating in 1938. She attended one year of college at Maryville, Missouri, then attended business school in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked in the advertising office of Fairmont Creamery in Shenandoah, Iowa, and later worked in the office of Lakes Nursery at Shenandoah. She married Robert Lee Brazell at the Covenant Church in Essex, Iowa, on April 26, 1944. She resided in Staplehurst, Nebraska for most of her life and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Staplehurst, then First United Methodist Church in Seward, Nebraska. Barbara was a resident of Seward Manor in Seward, Nebraska, Ashland Villa and Ashland Healthcare in Ashland, Missouri. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Segred Hanson; her husband, Robert Brazell and infant son, David Roy Brazell. Barbara is survived by five children, Linda Walker and husband, Harold Walker of Clinton, Arkansas, Paul Brazell and wife Paula Brazell of Jefferson City, Missouri, Shirley Enos and husband Tony Enos of Bellevue, Nebraska, John Brazell and wife Jean Brazell of Adams, Nebraska and Kathleen Scott of Portland, Oregon; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Barbara. |
