Bernadine Frances Kohout was born on September 5, 1937, to Joe A. and Eva (Nemec) Kohout in Seward County and passed away on December 7, 2025, in David City, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 2 days.

Bernadine was raised on farms in Seward County, Colfax County, and Butler County. Her first communion was at Wilson Church in Colfax County. She attended country schools in Colfax and Seward counties, then graduated from Dwight Assumption in 1955.

Bernadine was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her family. She was a member of Catholic Workman for over 70 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe F. Kohout, infant brother Lawrence Kohout; sister, Arlene E. Andel.

Bernadine is survived by her nephew, Marvin Andel of David City; niece, Sharon Smith of David City; great nieces and nephews, April Smith, Adam Smith, Sarah (Dave) Nedrig, Valerie (Anton) Engel; great-great nieces and nephews, Joshua, Amelia, Donavin, Ziva, Evelyn Frances, and Aydon.
