Bernard George Krska was born February 20, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of George and Elizabeth (Hofpar) Krska and passed away on June 3, 2017 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 3 months, 14 days. Bernard was a 1957 graduate of Dwight Assumption High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He served in the U.S. Air Force. On October 15, 1960, Bernard was united in marriage to Joyce Marie Cihal at Assumption Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Cindy, Lyle, Julie Ann and Torie. Bernard was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Seward, Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree), and a former member of Catholic Workmen . Bernard enjoyed farming, fishing, baseball, playing cards, doing bulldozer dirt work and spending time with his family.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Krska; his sister Joan Krska; step-mother Adeline Krska; grandson Eric Bader; grandmother Emma Kobza and special aunt Rita Kobza.
Survivors cherishing Bernard's memory include his wife, Joyce Krska, Seward; children and spouses: Cindy and Philip Bader, Seward; Lyle Krska and Julie Liska, Seward; Julie Krska and special friend Carlos Garcia-Serrano, Lincoln; Torie Taibemal, Seward; seven grandchildren and spouses and their children (the five great-grandchildren): Michelle and Jeff Nicklas (Chase and Cole), Michael Bader, Ashley and Matt Brandl (Maddox), Blair and Zachary Krska (Weston), Dorian Krska and Jared Kouma (Trentin Kouma-Krska), Leonardo Garcia-Aguilera, Austin Taibemal and special aunt, Lillian "Mitz" Kobza and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Bernard.
