Rev. Lee Johnson, officiant

9:00 A.M. to 8:30 P.M., Wednesday, January 23, 2008
with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.
all at Wood-Zabka Funeral Home in Seward; and one hour prior to the service at the church
on Thursday

Bernece Clara (Cain) Wright was born on September 29, 1921 on a farm near Utica, Nebraska to Ernest E. and Emma (Krieser) Cain and passed away on January 20, 2008 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 3 months, 22 days.
Bernece was a 1938 graduate of Beaver Crossing High School; following graduation she worked in Chicago , Illinois as a nanny and later in Seattle, Washington for Boeing Aircraft. She returned to Nebraska in 1948 and was united in marriage to Thomas Wilbur Wright on May 14, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Seward, Nebraska. Tom and Bernece lived all of their married life in Seward and Bernece provided day care for many families. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary for years. She was a member of United Methodist Women and taught the 3-year old Sunday School class for many years. Bernece was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 156 and served as secretary for many years; she was an active participant at the Seward Senior Center.
Bernece was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Wright in 1993, her parents, Ernest E. and Emma Cain; three brothers, Elmer, Loren and Linford Cain; four sisters, Muriel Potts, Mable Thieman, Dorothy Miller and Betty Sampson. Bernece is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Janet Wright of Omaha; grandchildren, Melissa and Brian Martensen, Eric Wright, Justin Wright, Meghan Wright, and Ashley Wright; great-granddaughters, Lily Martensen and Kaia Kohles; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Kathy Cain of Green Valley, AZ; sister-in-law, Jeannie Jeary of Seward; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
