Bettie Maixner

Bettie Marie Maixner was born on June 16, 1947, in Tryon, Oklahoma to James and Dorothy (Bowman) Bates and passed away surrounded by her daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter with “her boys” by her side on June 19, 2026, in Dwight, Nebraska at the age of 79 years and 3 days.

Bettie grew up in the Stillwater area where she attended school and made many cherished memories. Following high school, she was united in marriage to John Davis and together they welcomed two daughters, Pam and Tina. Bettie devoted many years to being a homemaker, lovingly raising and caring for her family.

On June 15, 1988, Bettie married Raymond Maixner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, she embraced a variety of roles including working as a cashier at Walmart, serving as a home health aide, and later fulfilling a lifelong sense of adventure as a cross-country truck driver. In addition to her professional endeavors, Bettie selflessly cared for her mother for more than 20 years, a reflection of her unwavering devotion to family.

Bettie had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, George and cat, Charlie, often referring to them as “her boys.” She enjoyed shopping, especially for clothing, and took pride in always having the perfect purse, jewelry and shoes to compliment every outfit. Above all, Bettie will be remembered for her spicy personality, quick wit and independent nature. She leaves behind many treasured memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bettie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Maixner; infant daughter, Sandra Lee; unborn infant son; son-in-law, Ross Bartlett; grandson, Daniel Lowery; sister-in-law, Imogene Bates.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her daughters, Pam (Mark) Lowery, Tina Bartlett; grandchildren, Tiffany (Joe) Yant, Joseph (Chrissy) Lowery, Rachel (Peter) Munoz; stepdaughter, Ramona (Mike) Santee; brother, Sonny Bates; sister, Judy (Jerry) Gibbs; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
