Betty Lee (Courtney) Endicott was born June 16, 1929 in Wray, Colorado, the daughter of William H. and Effie (Maxwell) Courtney and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on November 25, 2011 at the age of 82 years, 5 months, 9 days. Betty attended school in Wray, Colorado. On September 14, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Russell Nelson Endicott, Jr. in St. Francis, Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Donald, Linda, Richard, Judy and Kelly. The Endicott family moved to Seward in 1954 and Russ and Betty were the owners of Doc's IGA, Russ's ShurSave and Pac N Save, all in Seward. Betty was a 5o plus year member of the Seward United Methodist Church. Other memberships included Seward VFW Post No. 4755 Auxiliary and a proud member of the "E.L.K." Club and the "M.E.L.D." Club. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russ Endicott in 2006; her son-in-law, Jim Sommerfeld; brother, William Courtney; three sisters, Mary Cunningham, Mabel Middleton and Norma Rolfsmeier; two grandchildren, Courtney Endicott and Charles Endicott. Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Donald and Nancy Endicott of Wayne, Linda and Steve Schmidt of Lincoln, Richard and Connie Endicott of Seward, Judy Sommerfeld of Seward, Kelly and Jim Dingwell of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James and Willie Courtney of Laird, CO; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Robert Yates of Lincoln; cousins and a host of friends.
