Betty Mae Heidtbrink, widow of Victor, joined her Savior on June 4, 2017 at the age of 91 years, 3 months, 8 days. Betty was currently a resident at Ridgewood Care Center in Seward, Nebraska.
She was born and baptized on February 27, 1926 on a farm near Emerald, Nebraska to Edward and Vera (Hatzenbuehler) Boldebuck. She was the first of two children. Betty was confirmed on April 14, 1940. She attended District 80 school. On October 21, 1945 Betty was united in marriage to Victor Heidtbrink at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Lincoln. To this union two daughters were born, Verla and Denise. Betty and Victor celebrated 59 years of life together. Betty was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Malcolm, St. Paul's Ladies Aide and LWML. Betty was a homemaker, family caretaker and worked as a seasonal employee for Brandeis. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her flowers, home decorating, playing cards, Wii bowling and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Vera Boldebuck; in-laws, Clamor and Helena Heidtbrink; husband, Victor; an infant son; and her sister Lois Harriman.
Betty is survived by daughter, Verla Thomas of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and George Yeackley of Pleasant Dale. Betty's grandchildren and great grandchildren include: Myron and Wendy Thomas of Newcastle, WA and their children: Peyton and Makenna; Melissa and Chris Oerman of Lincoln and their sons: Austin, Jackson and Carson; Ryan and Christa Yeackley of Lincoln and their children: Kody, Logan and Kylie. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Malcolm. The visitation will be held at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward on Thursday, June 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Heidtbrink Family for future designation.
