Bill Bruce Briggs was born January 3, 1938 in Seward, Nebraska, the son of Rex Scott and Ollie Louise (Buckmaster) Briggs and passed away on May 22, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 4 months, 19 days. Bill was a 1955 graduate of Seward High School. On June 18, 1960, Bill was united in marriage to Carole Alice Yerk at the Methodist Church in Seward, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Mike, Todd and Stephanie. Bill was a cattle feeder with Briggs Cattle Company all of his life. Bill was a member of the Nebraska Cattlemen Association, Cornhusker Beef Council, Seward Country Club serving three terms as president, Seward United Methodist Church and Oliver Lodge #38 AF & AM where he was a member for over 50 years. He also served on the Board of Equalization for Seward County zoning. Bill s life was full of good times spent golfing, enjoying Husker sports and he also loved to dance and sing karaoke. Preceding Bill in death were his parents, Rex and Ollie Briggs and his brother, Robert "Bob" Briggs. Survivors remembering Bill's joy in life include his wife, Carole, Seward; children and spouses, Mike and Melissa Briggs, Seward, Todd and Angie Briggs, Seward, Stephanie and Steve Taylor, Lincoln; grandchildren, Avery, Sarah, Jake, Billea, Sydney, Skylar, and Samantha; great grandchildren, Jovelea and Jude; sister, Beth Griffin, Seward; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Susan Briggs, Seward, Kay and Bruce Schroeder, Seward, Becky and Craig Colburn, Lakewood, NY; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Bill's "dance card" reads: "Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance".
