MEMORIALS
To the family in care of Zabka Funeral Home

Brenda Kay (Twiss) Beran was born April 9, 1965 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Richard and LaVonne (Ott) Twiss and passed away in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska on July 2, 2009 at the age of 44 years, 2 months, 23 days. Brenda was employed as Secretary and Programs Administrator for the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District. She was a 1983 graduate of Lincoln High School. On July 25, 1987, Brenda was united in marriage to Doug Beran, her High School Sweetheart.. Together they had a passion for preserving the environment, working to create a sanctuary for wildlife on their farm, where she especially enjoyed bird watching. Brenda was a genius at planning vacations to the best travel destinations, creating the most enjoyable vacations with her family and friends. Helping others is something that came very naturally to Brenda, as she endlessly shared her time helping friends and family while asking and expecting nothing in return. She would never ask for something to be done for which she could do herself...though she would tirelessly do for others that which they could do for themselves. Brenda loved life and battled her cancer with courage until the Angels delivered her to Heaven. Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Richard Twiss; brother, Michael Twiss; father-in-law, Joe Beran. She is survived by her husband of nearly 22 years, Doug Beran of Pleasant Dale; mother, LaVonne Twiss of Lincoln; brother, Kurt Twiss of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Gayle Beran of Lincoln; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Pat Beran of Phoenix, AZ, Colleen and Rick Nider of Lincoln, Sue and Joe McHargue of Lincoln, Jim Beran of Lincoln; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Brenda.
