Brenda Sue (Hitt) Gibson was born on June 5, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Sidney and Ruby (Jones) Hitt and passed away on March 27, 2022, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Brenda grew up in Stevensville, Texas and later moved to Seward where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1967. She was a member of the Seward Saddle Club where she initially met Willi Gibson. The couple was later united in marriage on October 27, 1969, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Brenda worked her entire life as a nurse's aide. She had a heart for helping others in their time of need. In her younger years, she enjoyed showing dogs at various dog shows. Brenda also loved to go camping and fishing with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Ruby Hitt; daughter, Nicole Gibson; parents-in-law, Gordon and Elfriede Gibson; nephew, Byron Mertins and her sisters, Betty Mertins and Barbara Sandlin.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her husband, Willi Gibson, Belgrade, NE; son, Brad Gibson, Lincoln; niece, Theresa Brinsin, Amarillo, TX; nephew, Karl Mertins, San Diego, CA. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Brenda.
