Bruce Alan Tempel was born March 8, 1954 near Goehner, Nebraska to Richard and Janet (Fuehring) Tempel and passed away on October 25, 2012 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 58 years, 7 months, 17 days. Bruce was baptized and confirmed at Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner. He attended elementary school in Goehner and graduated from Seward High School in 1972. On July 3, 1972 he was united in marriage to Joan Koranda at Marysville, Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with three sons. Bruce and Joan were married 40 years this past July. In June of 1993 Bruce graduated from SCC in Milford with a degree in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration. Bruce was raised on a dairy farm north of Goehner and farmed much of his life. He was employed by McConnell Heating and Air Conditioning for several years. Bruce was a member of the Seward County Pheasants Forever, The Nebraska Archaeological Society, Junior Goehner Grange, Seward County 4-H club and a 25 plus year member of the Tamora Volunteer Fire Department. He also served on the board for Mound Prairie Cemetery. Bruce enjoyed auctions, farm sales and anything to do with nature and God's land. He was interested in and practiced good conservation farming. Bruce loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed visiting and making new friends. Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Richard; infant brother, John; grandparents, Ernest and Opal Tempel, Edgar and Bertha Fuehring; mother-in-law, Evelyn Koranda; brother-in-law, Robert Koranda. Bruce is survived by his wife, Joan Tempel; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Stacy Tempel, their sons, Jesse and Jacob Tempel, Beaver Crossing, son, Jason Tempel, Seward, son, Brent Tempel and Bri Steward, their daughter Brooklyn Tempel, Garland; mother, Janet Tempel, Seward; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Frank Lavicky, Seward, Cathy and Darrel Dickey, Seward, Diane and Jeff Moore, Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Linda Tempel, Seward; father-in-law, Dennis Koranda Sr., Seward; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis Jr. and Lodeen Koranda, Seward; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Alan Sleight, Milford, Patricia Koranda, Lincoln, Shirley Orth, Lincoln, Charlotte Koranda, Seward; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and a host of friends and beloved dog, Joey.
