Calvin Arthur Nordmeyer was born August 31, 1947 in Seward, Nebraska to Arthur Henry Otto and Margaret Evelyn (Whitenack) Nordmeyer and passed away on November 10, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 59 years, 2 months, 10 days. Calvin was baptized on June 6, 1948 and confirmed on May 21, 1961, both at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner. He was a 1965 graduate of Beaver Crossing High School where he played on the State Championship Basketball teams in 1964 and 1965. Calvin worked for the State of Nebraska Survey Crew from 1965-1966. He began working for the City of Seward in 1966 and retired as Public Works Superintendent in 2006 with 40 years of service. Calvin was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward and the Seward Youth and Community Club. He enjoyed camping with his friends, NASCAR racing and spending time with his grandchildren. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Margaret Nordmeyer; his son, Timothy Nordmeyer; brother, Darrell Nordmeyer and sister, Darlene Harre.

Calvin is survived by his children; son, Jeremy Nordmeyer, Omaha, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mike Sluka, Lincoln, son and fiance, Marc Nordmeyer and Melanie Reisinger, Seward, daughter-in-law, Becky Nordmeyer, Malcolm; grandchildren, Toby Nordmeyer, Ashley Sluka, Madison Nordmeyer, Briar Sluka, Brody Sluka, Grant Nordmeyer, Nova Nordmeyer; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Lea and John Davis, Beaver Crossing; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Verneta Nordmeyer, Seward; sister-in-law and spouse, Deb and Larry Heidtbrink, Malcolm; mother of their children, Barbara Nordmeyer, Lincoln; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Vera Radford, Seward; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and Keith Hentzen, Gretna; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
