IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
Jones
February 10, 1923 – January 22, 2024
Carol Jones, 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 22, 2024, in North Platte, NE. She was born February 10, 1923, in Seward County, NE as the fourth child to Clifton and Mabel McGrew. She graduated from Seward High School in 1940. On December 20, 1941, she married Orville K. Jones. They were the parents of five children; Peggy, Cindy, Nelda, Dana, and Kelly. Carol was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Busy Hour Extension Club, Seward Saddle Club, and the VFW Auxiliary. She also worked various jobs throughout her life.
How do you summarize a life that spanned a century? We have all heard the stories Carol would tell about her childhood. Her love for her dad and her love for being outside. Her children remember their mom from their childhood and the special care she gave them. They remember her always doing some kind of craft (knitting, crocheting, sewing).
For her grandchildren, Grandma Carol was special and an inspiration to live up to. She would do anything they asked her to do (like having camp-outs or making something yummy in the kitchen). She welcomed all their friends and treated them as if they were her grandchildren too.
Carol's great-grandchildren have their own special memories of their Grandma Great. She was still doing things with them like having sleepovers and attending their activities. Even Carol's great-great grandchildren got to spend time with her in their own special way.
She was loved by so many and gave of herself to all her family and extended family. She was a special aunt to so many and a great friend to many more. Carol experienced so many things in her life that if we were to write them all down, we would not have enough room for all the books.
Carol's survivors include:
Her children - Cindy Falls, Nelda (Larry) Ebers, Dana (Tom) Schaefer, and Kelly (Jean Roy) Jones.
Her grandchildren - Stacey (Paul) Vinton, Craig (Angie Kriz) Falls, Jeffry Ebers, Dana Melissa Ebers, Amy (Dan) Jumet, Casey (John Vrbsky) Sova, Seth (Jessica Kisela) Schaefer, and Spencer (Katie Myers) Jones.
