Carol Ann Kratochvil was born on August 14, 1943, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Theodor and Norma (Schildt) Priess and passed away into her heavenly home on October 27, 2021, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Carol attended and graduated from Phillips Consolidated High School in Phillips, Nebraska with the Class of 1961. She then went on to attend and graduate from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Carol was united in marriage to Leroy Kratochvil on April 15, 1972, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seward. She taught school in Watertown, South Dakota, worked at the co-op elevator in Ulysses for 32 years and was the organist for Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seward for over 45 years.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Kratochvil; parents, Theodor and Norma (Schildt) Priess; parents-in-law, Ignac Charles and Lillian Ann (Baus) Kratochvil; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Morris Drake; brothers-in-law, Dwayne Otte, Donald Sronce, Eugene Kratochvil, Eugene Kadavy, Don Moravec and Merv Kirkpatrick.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her sisters, Valera Otte, Seward and Norma Lee Sronce, Lincoln; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Elaine Kratochvil, Seward, Marcie (Ray) Buller, Utica, LaVerne Kadavy, Weston, Marge (Ron) Miller, Omaha, Donna Moravec, Ulysses, Pat Kirkpatrick, Utica, Vernon (ReNay) Kratochvil, Beaver Crossing, Larry (Sue) Kratochvil, Ulysses, Donald Kratochvil, Ulysses, Gary (Lori) Kratochvil, David City and 38 nieces and nephews who mourn her loss.
