Carol Jean Langner, 84 of Seward passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 at her home. Born February 14, 1924 at Wymore, NE to Al & Helen (Campbell) Hogue. She lived in Wymore, Chester and Hebron, NE. In 1940, she moved with her family to Seward. Carol Jean graduated from Seward High School in 1941. Carol worked as a secretary for Hughes Brothers and Protective Fire in Seward. She married Jack Wesley Langner on May 22, 1943. Carol Jean was the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Langner Electric. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She made the best sugar cookies and ginger snaps. She greeted everyone with a warm and gracious smile. Carol enjoyed camping, knitting, walking and helping others. She was a Camp Fire leader for many years and was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church were she taught Sunday school and was active in Stephen's Ministry. Carol is survived by her daughter, Trudy Langner; son, Mick Langner; grandson, Mike Langner all of Seward; granddaughter, Hope Langner; great granddaughter, Olivia Waters, both of Lincoln; sister, Norma King of Seward; brother-in-law & wife, Chuck & Lauraine Langner of Tyler, TX; nieces and nephews; and her loving cat, Angel Marie. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years, Jack; brothers-in-law, Frederick, Connie Langner and George King. |
