Caroline Ann (Vrbka) Geiger was born March 28, 1917 in Utica, Nebraska to Ed and Mary (Pazdersky) Vrbka and passed away on May 2, 2012 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 1 month, 4 days. Caroline "Carrie" was raised on a farm near Utica and graduated from Utica High School. She married Florian G. Geiger on March 3, 1943 and moved to a farm near Ulysses where they lived for nearly 30 years. Carrie and Florian raised four children on their farm where she was a devoted housewife and mother. Carrie was also involved in many social groups including the Ulysses Extension Club and the West Side Country Club. She was a former member of the Ulysses Immaculate Conception Church and Altar Society and currently a member of the Seward St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. After retiring in 1978, Carrie and Florian moved to Seward, where they enjoyed retirement to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, socializing with friends, and most importantly spending time with family. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Vrbka; her husband, Florian and four brothers, Ed, Ernest, Frank and Leo Vrbka. Caroline is survived by four children: Sister Marilyn Geiger of Rochester, MN; Larry (Virginia) Geiger of Lincoln; Susan (Greg) Hraban of Wahoo; and Linda (Richard) Lau of Anchorage, AK. She has seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Rosemary Stoll of Utica; nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
