Carolyn Jane Franks was born on December 1, 1942, to Ambrose and Ethel (Twomey) Champlin in Fresno, California and passed away on January 10, 2022, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 8 days. Carolyn grew up in Ventura, California and graduated from Ventura High School with the Class of 1960.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Steven Franks on April 18, 1964, in Ventura, California and to this union four children were born. In 1977, the family moved to Victorville, CA and stayed until 1986 when they moved to Council Bluffs, IA where Carolyn continued to be a homemaker. In 1993, the couple moved to Lincoln, NE where they both worked at Molex, Inc. She retired from there in 2000 and then later moved to Seward. Carolyn loved being a mom, making soft sculptured dolls and sewing. She also had a deep love for her family and their cats. She especially loved her grandchildren. Carolyn was truly the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ask for.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Franks and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Gregg and husband, Robert, Omaha, Stephanie Twomey, Nashville, TN, Serena Franks, Hastings; son, Ken Franks, Seward; grandchildren, Stacey and husband, Ryan Millsap, Omaha, Marley Gregg, Omaha, and Jerrod Chekal, Hastings. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Carolyn.
