Carrie Elizabeth (Brhel) Koch (Woods) was born on July 2, 1975, in Seward, Nebraska to Leslie "Les" and Kay (Pollock) Brhel and passed away on March 12, 2023, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 47 years, 8 months and 10 days.
Carrie grew up in Goehner, Nebraska and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1993. After high school, Carrie worked at Metromail in Seward for a short time before working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford, Nebraska in 1995. From 1997 to 2010, Carrie worked at Ambassador Health of Lincoln as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medication Aide and Unit Coordinator. She then returned to Sunrise Country Manor from 2010 to 2022, where she worked in the medical records department. On March 10, 2023, Carrie and Bill held a commitment ceremony in the hospital to celebrate their love for each other. In her younger years, she enjoyed 4-H and Girl Scouts. In her free time, Carrie loved fishing, mowing her lawn and camping. She was an avid animal lover where she enjoyed caring for her chinchilla, Remus, and her dogs. Carrie also enjoyed going to concerts and socializing with her friends, but most of all she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Carrie is preceded in death by her mother, Kay Brhel; grandparents, Marvin and Lorene Pollock, Ray Brhel.
Survivors cherishing her memory include her children, Kayla and husband, Michael Motley, Parker Samson and Alyssa Owens; spouse, William "Bill" Woods; father, Leslie and Kathy Brhel; stepdaughter, Crimson and husband, Alex Reed; grandchildren, Brynlee and Greyson Motley, Hunter and Trenton Reed; siblings, James Brhel and Melinda Lawrence, Angela and husband, Clinton Ostrander, Clinton Brhel and Sabrina Martin, Traci and Diane Westerhaus, Jennifer Brhel and Dave Lambelet; grandmother, Adele Brhel; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Carrie.
