Charles Daniel Hottovy was born January 5, 1922 on a farm near Dwight, Nebraska to Charles Leopold and Rose (Moravec) Hottovy and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 2, 2007 at the age of 85 years, 28 days.

Chuck attended country school near Dwight. On February 9, 1948, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Marie Walla at Touhy, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four children, Duane, Bonnie, Joyce and Charles, Jr. The couple lived most of their married life on their farm near Dwight. Chuck was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight and a member of Catholic Workman Branch No. 32 Dwight and a charter member of Dwight American Legion Post No. 110.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rose Hottovy; his brothers, Adolph, Reynold and Richard Hottovy and his sisters, Lucille Eiting and Agnes Fiala.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Lorraine Hottovy of Dwight; his sons, Duane Hottovy and Charles Hottovy, Jr., both of Dwight; his daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Bob Knievel of Lakewood, Colorado and Joyce and Dave Policky of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Rachelle and husband Mark Schofield, Erica Knievel, Steve Knievel, Michaela Policky, Jeff Policky, Kyle Policky and Eric Policky; his sister, Rose Klein of David City; brothers, Emil Hottovy of Dwight and Ray and his wife Marcie Hottovy of Morris, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Emma Hottovy of Lincoln, Rose Hottovy of David City; brothers-in-law, Ray Fiala of Wahoo and Reynold Walla of Valparaiso; other relatives and a host of friends.
