Obituary

Charles Hendon Jaudon, Sr. was born on March 8, 1926, in Aberdeen, MS, to Claude Houston and Myrtle Idellus (Autrey) Jaudon and passed away unexpectedly in Seward on May 31, 2018 at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 23 days. Charles grew up in Mississippi and graduated high school from Prairie, MS with the Class of 1943.

Charlie enlisted into the United States Army on May 29, 1944, during W.W.II. He served in Rhineland and Europe until he was honorably discharged on June 12, 1946. Upon his return he attended Mississippi State University for two years. On August 4, 1951, Charlie was united in marriage to Nannie "Ruth" Johnson in Itta Bena, MS. The family made their home in West Memphis, AR, where Charlie worked at Watkins Products for 15 years until he and Ruth began their own business making furniture. He later worked at General Motors and Walkers where he was the production manager until 1973. The family then moved to Seward and he was the distribution manager at Walkers until his retirement in 1985. Charlie loved golfing, crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He was a long time member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Seward United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth on May 23, 2018; brothers-in-law and spouses, Cameron "Buddy" and Nannie Bell Johnson, J.W. and Dot Johnson, Paul K. Johnson.

Charlie is survived by his children, Charles H. "Chuck" and his wife Cherryse Jaudon, Seward, Deborah and her husband, Lehman "Bud" Honeycutt, Bee; his three grandchildren, Jeremy Jaudon, Dylan Siebrass and Drew Ann Janecek; great granddaughter, Dalila RuthAnne Janecek; step grandchildren, Chase Cook, Ember Cook, Aaliyah Cook, Orlanna Cooper, Theresa Honeycutt, Matthew Honeycutt; sisters and brother-in-law, Dr. Joe and Jane Greever, Pooler, Georgia, Joy Kelly, Batesville, Mississipi; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Charlie.
