Cheryl Joyce Stahr was born October 26th, 1946 to Lyle Eldon and Lucille Mae (Wittfoth) Davis in Minden, Nebraska. During her childhood, she resided in the Nebraska communities of Axtell, Keen, Bee, Staplehurst and Seward. She graduated from Seward High School in 1965. Cheri attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for one year where she was pursuing a degree in English with a minor in French.
On July 1st, 1967 she married Dale Dean Stahr of Waco and they began their life together in Seward. Dale and Cheri moved to the Stahr family farm in rural York County in 1972 and raised 6 children there. Cheri took her first job in high school at Bubbles Café in Seward. While she was attending the university, she worked at Kretzky's in Lincoln. After she returned to Seward, Cheri and her mother opened the Fabric Fair. A couple of years later, she sold her half of the business to her mom to be a stay at home mom and a farmer's wife. In 1980, she took a job at Saint John's Lutheran School as the cook. After five years, she began her 27 year career at Centennial Public School and retired in December of 2012. Cheri was well known for her skill and craftsmanship. As a talented seamstress, she created beautiful tailored garments for her clients and her children over the years. Using frosting as her medium, she decorated amazing cakes for family and friends. On May 16, 2014 Cheri passed away in Butte Montana. She had been on an Alaskan cruise with Dale and was on her way home to Nebraska.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Stahr of Waco, her children, Van and his wife Joy Stahr of Liberty Missouri, Todd Stahr of Sand River Michigan, Misty and her husband Ryan Wilson of Omaha, Laine and his wife Kristy Stahr of Doniphan, Penny Stahr and Matt Coughlin of Omaha, Tyler and his wife Heather Stahr of Lincoln; brother, Lynn and his wife Karla Davis of Ogden Utah, sister Paulette and her husband Rodney Barth of Seward, 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father Lyle Davis, mother Lucille Roos, step-father Vern Roos, father-in-law Edmund Stahr, mother-in-law Ella Stahr, brother-in-law Loren Stahr, and brother-in-law Rupert Stahr.
