Chester V. Holland was born December 29, 1929 in Montauk, Missouri to Vester V. & Grace E. (Williams) Holland and passed away on June 3, 2009 in Bellevue, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 5 days. Chester was a 1949 graduate of Licking High School in Licking, Missouri. Following graduation, Chester taught Grammar School with the Dent County School System. He enlisted into the Air Force on August 29, 1951 marking the start of his 26 years of dedicated service. On September 17, 1955, Chester was united in marriage to Kathleen E. Weitzel. Following his retirement, Chester was a management supervisor for Pamida Inc until 1990. His most recent employment was driving for the United States Postal Service. Following the death of his first wife, Chester was united in marriage to Viola M. Weitzel on December 20, 1995.
Chester was a member of VFW # 2280 , VFW #4755 and the Bellevue Eagles Club.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Vester V. & Grace E. Holland; first wife, Kathleen Holland; brothers, Glen & Junior Lloyd Holland.
Chester is survived by wife, Viola Holland of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Mary Weitzel of Newman Grove, NE; nieces and nephews and spouses, Judi and Ernie Wilmink of Lindsay, Joe & Phyllis Weitzel of Newman Grove, Richard & Peggy Weitzel of Fremont, Robert Weitzel of Grand Island, many great nieces and great nephews; aunts, Ione Gabel of Seward; cousins, Bill Holland of Licking, Missouri, Clarence Holland of Grand View, Missouri, LeRoy Davis and his wife Shirley of Salem, Missouri, Alvi Holland of Missouri and Debbi Edgmond of Missouri; beloved dog, Deacon. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Chester.
