Christina Wilma (Walla) Pollak was born July 7, 1924 on a farm near Agnew, Nebraska to Robert Jacob and Christina Agnes (Hromas) Walla and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on January 9, 2010, at the age of 85 years, 6 months, 2 days. Christina was a graduate of Dwight Public School. She worked at Cushman for a few years and also at Elgin Watch Company, both in Lincoln. On October 8, 1949, Christina was united in marriage to Edward Clarence Pollak in Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived in Lincoln for 2 years and then moved north of Seward; in the early 1950's they moved into Seward. Christina was a homemaker and she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and flowers. Christina is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Charles and an infant daughter, Rosemary; her brothers, Joe Walla and Thomas Walla and a brother-in-law, Gary Roderick. Christina is survived by her husband, Ed Pollak of Seward; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Conard Dalrymple of Naples, New York; grandson, Michael Dalrymple of Seneca Falls, New York; two great-grandchildren, Alicia and Owen Dalrymple; brothers and sisters-in-law, Adolph and Louise Walla, Robert, Jr. and Delores Walla, all of Lincoln; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and John McCormick, Alice and Dick Volmer, all of Lincoln, Helen and Edward Komenda of Valparaiso, Marie Roderick, Tucson, Arizona, Wilma Giancola of Gillette, Wyoming; nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Christina. |
