Obituary

Clifford Ray Damrow was born November 6, 1938 in Benkelman, Nebraska, the son of Raymond Harold and Flossie Laverne (Chaney) Damrow. Clifford passed away on April 23, 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 5 months, 17 days. Clifford was baptized November 24, 1938 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Wauneta, Nebraska and confirmed April 6, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman, Nebraska. He attended rural Dundy County District 33 and graduated in 1956 from Benkelman High School (Dundy County). Clifford was united in marriage to Elaine Grace Hansen on November 23, 1958 at the Methodist Church in Benkelman; they lived in town for a few months and then moved to the farm 18 miles north of Benkelman. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Rodney and Connie. Clifford loved his farming vocation; he farmed from birth until December of 1999 when they moved to Seward, Nebraska. From 2005 to 2013, Clifford was the owner of Seward Lawn Service; he fully retired in 2013. Clifford was a member of Seward United Methodist Church and had been a former member of the United Methodist Church in Benkelman where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of the Nebraska Wheat Board and Farm Bureau Clifford also enjoyed PBR bull riding, fishing, car racing and particularly spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spoiling his "Little Boy", great-grandson Creighton.

Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Flossie Damrow; his sister, Linda Damrow; brothers-in-law: Wilfred Hansen, Lyle Hansen, Gene Teeter; sister-in-law, Patricia Hansen.

Survivors cherishing Clifford's memory include his wife, Elaine of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Teresa Damrow of Max; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Chuck Wergin of Milford; grandchildren and spouses, Kayla and Matt Kling of Lincoln, Brandon and Katie Wergin of Milford, Krista and Jon Ehlers of Omaha, Hunter Wergin of Milford and his soon to be wife, Tori Sillman, Leslee Damrow of Max; great-grandson, Creighton Wergin, and step great-grandchildren, Chase Kling and Ian Kling. Additional survivors include: sisters-in-law, Ellen Teeter of Rossville, KS, Helen Hansen of Benkelman; brother-in-law, Duane Hansen of Wichita, KS; other relatives and a host of friends.
