Clinton Walter Thomas was born on August 16, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Walter Martin Dietrich and Cecelia Anna Addie (Lipps) Thomas and passed away on May 27, 2017, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 11 days.
Clint grew up on the family farm outside of Pleasant Dale. He was baptized into Christ on September 7, 1947 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and later confirmed on May 21, 1961. He attended country school District #38 and then graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1965. Clint went on to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln where he received his B.S. in Agronomy. He enlisted into the United States Air Guard on January 1, 1967; he retired on August 12, 1987 as a Captain. Clint was united in marriage on March 3, 1969, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Malcolm. He was blessed with two children, Myron and Melissa. His first job out of college was with the Nebraska Department of Roads from 1970 until 1986. He then began working for the City of Lincoln as a Right of Way Agent until his passing. Clint was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale. He was a 45-year member of the Pleasant Dale Volunteer Fire Department where he served as an EMT. He volunteered with the American Red Cross and served on the Town Board for many years. Clint was an avid hunter and golfer.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents.
Clint is survived by his children, Myron Thomas and wife Wendy of Newcastle, WA; Melissa Oerman and husband Chris of Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren, Peyton and Makenna Thomas, Austin, Jackson, and Carson Oerman; one brother, Stan Thomas and wife Rosemary; one sister Jeannie Becker and her husband Jim Lamb, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale with Rev. Louis E. Grieser officiating. Private family graveside will be at Pleasant Dale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, ALS of the Heartland, als.org, American Red Cross or Pleasant Dale Volunteer Fire Department.
