Corey Stull

Corey Michael Stull, 55, of Gothenburg and formerly Seward / Milford area, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026 at his parent’s home in Gothenburg, with his Mom and Dad by his side, following a short but courageous battle with sarcoma / bone cancer.

In the wee hours of October 22, 1970, a brown-haired, blue-eyed baby boy was born at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. His parents were Connie (Streeter) Stull and Jim Stull and they named him Corey Michael. He was welcomed home by an adoring older brother, Chad, and later came a sister, Cressy. Corey was baptized on November 15, 1970 at American Lutheran Church and confirmed his faith on May 11, 1986, also at ALC. His early life was spent in Gothenburg where he attended K – 10th grades. He finished his schooling in Seward, NE.

While most little boys aspire to be firemen, policemen, or airplane pilots, Corey always wanted to be a truck driver……and that he did. Shortly after finishing school, Corey moved back to Gothenburg. He worked a short time for Sargent Irrigation, and then for Dean Goad in the service station and tire shop. He changed a lot of truck tires on I-80, sometimes in the dark of night, snow, and rain. He credited Dean with teaching him almost everything there is to know about tires and hard work.

After a few years he got a job at Husker Express and moved back to Seward. It was there that he met Jim Daws. When Daws decided to start his own trucking business, Corey followed and did shop work. After Tim Halsted of Gothenburg taught him how to drive an 18-wheeler, he got his CDL and began his over-the-road career at Daws Trucking. Corey delivered loads to all but two of the lower 48 states and it wasn’t uncommon for him to call his Mom: ”Guess where I am. In front of Graceland”, or “On Hoover Dam”. He earned multiple awards for safe driving and he was proud of those accomplishments. After many years on the road in all kinds of weather, he decided to give up the road and became the shop manager and diesel mechanic. There wasn’t a Peterbilt he couldn’t fix. All told, 33 years with Daws Trucking and a lasting friendship with mentors Jim and Lana Daws.

After the retirement of Jim Daws and sale of Daws Trucking, Corey ventured out, with his business partner, Ranae, and Loyal Trucking LLC was established. The first Loyal Trucking load pulled out of the yard in January 2025. Unfortunately, Corey was diagnosed with sarcoma / bone cancer in September, 2025 which ended his trucking career. He had fulfilled his dream.

Corey’s favorite things in life: family, his work family, trucks, MOPAR cars, camping, Pepsi, Peanut M & Ms, trucks, car races, fun with friends, music, and more trucks. He thought Bugs Bunny was hilarious, even wearing Bugs sox as a groomsman at his brother's and sister’s weddings. He had an infectious laugh, a great work ethic, and always kept his good attitude in spite of the pain and treatments of his disease. He appreciated and made friends with almost all of his providers.

Corey is survived by his sons: Austin Stull (Tajanay Leslie), Michael Tubach (Chantal Coon), of Lincoln, Grandchildren: Kaden Coon and Kinley Coon, Parents: Connie (Jim) Dalrymple of Gothenburg, Jim (Trish) Stull of Staplehurst, Siblings: Chad Stull of Central City, Cressy (Randy) Rossell of Gothenburg, JD (Kristine) Dalrymple of Hickman, and Kasey (Josh) Alloway of Pierce. Nieces & Nephews: Garrett, Dalton, and Shauna Stull, Carlin (Justin) Discigil and their son Will, Gabi Daharsh, Chloe Daharsh, Keegan Dalrymple, Scott Adams, Tyler Adams, Masey Stava, Beau and Logan Alloway, Taylor (Chad) Schmiett and daughter Eisley, Jordan Rossell (Chloe Veigel) and Braelen Rossell, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, special friends Jim and Lana Daws of Seward and best friend David Springstead of Washington.

Corey was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Lloyd and Delories Streeter, Orville and Nita Stull, Brother-in-law Monte Stava, Uncle Ron and Aunt Sharon Aden, and cousins Bailey Streeter, Tracy Gallagher and Patrick Aden

According to his wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service and the cremains spread at Jeffrey Lake and his parent’s farm.
