Corinne Elizabeth Laura (Leland) Waas was born in Jewell, Kansas on October 3, 1922, the daughter of Austin John and Sylvia (Vader) Leland. Twink was a 1940 graduate of Pierce High School in Pierce, Nebraska. On September 21, 1945, Twink was united in marriage to Walter Stanley Waas in Madison, Nebraska; their marriage was blessed with one son, Eugene. Twink's employment included working in Norfolk, Nebraska for Eugene Eppley Hotels as a bookkeeper and in Little Rock, Arkansas at W. T. Worthen Bank as a teller. In 1952, the family moved to Seward, Nebraska and Twink was employed with Rolfsmeier Dairy Company and later at Cattle National Bank and Trust as a receptionist from 1970-1983. Twink was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Seward Women's Club, Lamesa Bridge Club and O.E.S. and a life member of VFW Post 4755 Auxiliary. Twink is preceded in death by her parents, Austin J. and Sylvia Leland and her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Garnet Leland. Twink is survived by her husband, Walter "Wally" Waas of Seward; their son, Gene Waas of Champaign, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Jean Leland of Fremont and Austin and Florence Leland of Norfolk; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Twink. |
