Dale Dean Batchelder was born March 8, 1935 in Seward, Nebraska to Dean and Thelma (Thomas) Batchelder. He passed away in Los Angeles, California on March 12, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer. He grew up on a farm near Goehner, Nebraska, attended Goehner Elementary School and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1953. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in electrical engineering. February 9, 1958, Dale was united in marriage to Genevieve Jeary and they moved to Riverside, California where Dale worked for the NOLC. In 1970, Dale was transferred to the Naval Air Weapons System at China Lake, California. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Thelma Batchelder; his brothers-in-law, Robert Steinheider and Robert Jeary. Dale is survived by his wife, Genevieve "Jenny" Batchelder of Ridgecrest, CA; son, Alan and his wife, Janet Batchelder of Larkspur, CO; daughter, Dana and husband, Tom Beene of Ridgecrest, CA; grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Everitt of Ridgecrest, CA, Rachel and husband John Pehrson of Castle Rock, CO; great-granddaughter, Piper Pehrson. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Genthe of Syracuse, NE; sisters-in-law, Virginia Jeary of Seward, Glema and husband Melvin King of Lincoln; Jeannie Jeary of Seward; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
