Danny Lee "Dan" Geiger, of Milford, Nebraska, was born on August 24,1951, in Kearney, Nebraska to Edward and Violet (Krueger) Geiger and passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, at Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 18 days.

Growing up in Odessa, Dan attended Kearney High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. Following his graduation, Dan embarked on a journey of service and work.  He joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973, demonstrating his dedication to his country. His commitment to service continued when he served as a Navy Reservist during Desert Storm in 1991, showcasing his enduring patriotism.

After his military service, Dan found a career with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1974, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for an impressive 37 years until his retirement in 2011. His dedication and hard work contributed significantly to the railroad industry.

In addition to his career, Dan owned and operated Dan's Golf Shop for many years. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dan found joy in leisure activities. He had a passion for golf and racquetball as well as socializing and working on golf carts were among his favorite pastimes.  Dan Geiger lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a zest for both work and play. His contributions to his community, country, and industry leave behind a lasting legacy.

Survivors include his daughter, Stacey Geiger of Lincoln; son, Eric Geiger and wife, Courtney of Houston, Texas; son, Chad Geiger and wife, Barb of Lincoln; grandchildren, Eric, Jaxon, Myles, and Ace Geiger of Houston, Texas, Trey Geiger of Lincoln; sister, Bonnie West of Sidney; brothers, Butch Geiger of Kearney, Doug Geiger of Lincoln; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sisters, Debbie and Linda.
