David John Avery of Seward, Nebraska passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 68 after a long battle with multiple myeloma.
David was born on September 12, 1949 in St. Edward, NE to Ruby and John Avery. He received his associate's degree at Central Nebraska Tech, and was self-employed for much of his adult life as a lawn mower mechanic and sign maker. He loved his town of Seward, Nebraska where he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and was generally well known and well-loved in the community.
David will be greatly missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Reagan Avery; his daughter and son in law, Jessica and Thomas Yarmer; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bailey, Jordan Avery, Krynne Knopik, Sariah Knopik, Aiden Knopik and friend Cindy Prochnow; his sisters, Jo, Linda, and Mary, and his wonderful friends, Deb, Karen, and Chris, all of whom were vital to his quality of life. He is predeceased by his father, John, his mother, Ruby, and his sister, Judy.
At David's request, no services will be held. There will be a Celebration of Life at Sparetime Lounge in Seward, NE on June 20th, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to 3242 North 52nd, Lincoln, NE 68504, and although donations are unnecessary, any received will be donated to a charity close to his heart.
