Dean James Semin was born on November 1, 1935, to Louis and Laura (Korinek) Semin in Staplehurst, NE; and passed away on May 22, 2015, in Seward, NE; at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 21 days. Dean spent his childhood in Ulysses, NE; where he graduated from Ulysses High School with the class of 1953. He enlisted into the United States navy on January 4, 1954, and was honorably discharged on February 7, 1956. Dean then enlisted into the United States Army on February 8, 1956, where he served in the Special Services. He was honorably discharged on January 4, 1962. On September 16, 1960, Dean was united in marriage to Marie Annette Ross-Schroeder in Council Bluffs, IA; to this union a son, James Dean Semin was born. Dean began working for the United States Department of Agriculture in 1965, as a Soil Conservationist Technician. He was awarded numerous Certificates of Merit during his 29 years of service, retiring in 1994. Dean and Marie were members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses. Dean was preceded in death by his son, James Dean Semin; mother, Laura Young; father, Louis Semin; two brothers, Donald and Dale Semin; two sisters, JoAnn Ihde and Ginger Semin. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie of Seward, sisters-in-law, Georgia Mueller and Myrna Becker both of Seward, Lois Semin of Ulysses, and brothers-in-law Larry Ihde of Omaha, Tom Caldwell and wife Lenda of Wichita Falls, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
