Obituary

Delores Elaine (Schulz) Ouellette was born June 28, 1937 in Garland, Nebraska, the daughter of Rudolph J. and Edna K. (Christjaener) Schulz. She was baptized on July 18, 1937 in Garland and confirmed on April 2, 1950 at St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. Delores was a 1954 graduate of Seward High School. On March 25, 1955, Delores was united in marriage to Dean Ouellette at the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Ronda, Renee and Ronny. Delores passed away on April 7, 2018 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 9 months, 10 days.

Delores spent her life serving others. She and Dean were the owners of Johnson's Tasty Foods in Seward from 1966 to 1990. They managed the Seward Country Club for five years from 1990 to 1995, followed by a time in management at the York Country Club from 1995-1997. Delores was employed at Hall of Cards in Seward for 15 years, followed by five years with Blue River Jewelry. In each career move she made new friends and her outgoing, kind example of service was a blessing to her employers and her customers.

The time Delores spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was the biggest joy of her life. She enjoyed attending their school functions and various sporting events, fishing and camping together, family outings to Milford Lake and Calamus Reservoir. Delores enjoyed making birthday cakes for all of her family and never missed an opportunity to share her delicious sugar cookies with her family and friends.
