Denise Ann (Neujahr) Soukup was born April 1, 1967 in Seward, Nebraska and passed away on January 26, 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 49 years, 9 months, 25 days. Denise graduated from Milford High School in 1985 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for three years. On May 29, 2001, Denise was united in marriage to Travis James Soukup in Lincoln, Nebraska. Denise loved the outdoors—fishing, camping, and golfing. Dee's passion was taking care of other people. She loved hanging out with her friends, having fun and making everyone smile.

Denise is preceded in death by her father, Leo Neujahr and a nephew, Trenton Walker.

Survivors cherishing Denise's memory are her husband, Travis Soukup and son, Jackson Soukup, Omaha; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Shawn Starostka, Omaha and their children, Alex and Peyton, Denise's grandson and granddaughter. Denise is also survived by her foster family: foster parents, Marjorie and Dale Stahly, Murfreesboro, TN; her foster brother and wife, Jeff and Terri Stahly, and their children, Brandon, Dawson, Sophia and Grace, Spring Hill, TN, foster sister and her husband, Jody and T.J. Warren and their daughter, Breanna, Murfreesboro, TN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Dianne Soukup, Seward; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bryan and Angie Soukup and their children, Brady and Bode, of Blair and Jimmy and Renee Soukup and their children, Tyce, Tessa, Titan, Staplehurst; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
