Obituary

Diana L. Cannon was born April 7, 1943, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Sam and Patricia (Hamm) Cannon and passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, in Crete, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Dinah went to school and graduated from Lowell, Indiana. Following high school graduation, she went to x-ray tech school and then moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas to work in a hospital. This is where she met LeRoy Vyhnalek who was stationed at Fort Chaffee. LeRoy received orders to be stationed in Germany, so Dinah went with him, and they were married in Nice, France on August 31, 1964. They made their life in Dorchester, Nebraska and from this union three children were born.  One daughter, LeAnna and twin sons, Patrick and Kelly.

Dinah worked nearly 20 years at Walker's/Tenneco Manufacturing in Seward, NE. The marriage between Dinah and LeRoy ended in 1988. Dinah then moved back to her hometown of Lowell, IN in 1989. She worked for Burrell Imaging in Crown Point, IN until she moved back to Nebraska in 2002, to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Once back in Nebraska, Dinah loved volunteering at the Dorchester Library, spending time with her friends/former coworkers and following her grandchildren's activities. Dinah's favorite thing in the world was spending time with her grandchildren. Her kids and grandkids were her pride and joy, and she would brag about them to anyone who would listen.  Dinah spent her final years being cared for at Tabitha Skilled Care in Crete.

Dinah is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her children and spouses, LeAnna (Tim) Hessheimer of Dorchester, Patrick (Erin) Vyhnalek of Seward, Kelly (Jamie) Vyhnalek of Dorchester; grandchildren, Katlin Lawver, Karmen Tomek, Tim Hessheimer, Jr., Kelly Vyhnalek, Grace Vyhnalek, Jack Vyhnalek, Harrison Vyhnalek; great-grandchildren, Brock Tomek, Tucker Tomek, Alaina Tomek; brother and sister-in-law, Jim (Helga) Cannon of Sebring, FL.
