Diana Gail (Rader) Davis was born on November 29, 1943, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Walter and Nellie (Thompson) Rader and passed away on October 2, 2023, in Ulysses, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Diana grew up in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and was the oldest of eight children. She attended Platte Community College in Columbus and graduated from Nursing school in 1985. She spent her career taking care of the elderly at several nursing homes in the Seward area. Diana was the Rescue Chief of the Ulysses Fire Department.
Diana loved crocheting, sewing, canning, fishing, camping and traveling. She was a huge fan of Elvis and Princess Diana. Diana loved her sons-in-law, Donny, Jeff and Shawn, almost more than her own children. Her house was always open to all. She was the primary caretaker for her granddaughter, Sandra Gail Garcia, for many years.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne Howard Shelly; grandsons, Donald James Hayek, Jr., Brenden Scott Scheel; stepdaughter, Pepper Jean Berry; great-grandson, Gavyn Scott Rerucha; sister, Bobby Linn Young.
Survivors cherishing her memory include her children, Glora and husband, Donny Hayek, Ulysses, NE, Tammy Redman, Ulysses, NE, Diana and husband, Jeff Scheel, Hallam, NE, Robert and wife, Carolyn Shelly, Omaha, NE, Jeanette and husband, Shawn Morrison, Elizabeth, CO, Telena Moser, Omaha, NE; 20 grandchildren, Josh Hayek, John Hayek, Jamie Hayek, Joseph Hayek, Mitzy Rerucha, David Rerucha, Promise Johnson, Aaron and Tiffany Rerucha, Ryan and Heather Rerucha, Brook Shelly, Danielle and Jordon Loy, Brenna Scheel, Katelyn Scheel, Malayna and Zach Sheibal, Madison Shelly, MaKenna Shelly, Shawn Morrison, II, Ian Morrison, Jaden Mahler and Danika Moser; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois and Duane Plant, Ellen and George Tischler, Doris Boehm, Curtis and Bonnie Rader, Julie and Terry Duncan, Gordon and Connie Rader; brother-in-law, Tom Young; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
