Obituary

Dolores Loraine Dickinson was born December 20, 1928 in Seward, Nebraska, the daughter and only child of August Frederich and Olga Anna Frieda (Kuehn) Rolfsmeier. Dolores, affectionately known as Pat, was a 1946 graduate of Seward High School. She attended the University of Nebraska studying in the College of Journalism for two years. She was united in marriage to Dale Lee Dickinson on August 14, 1948 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Claudia, Connie, Doug, Todd and Christie. Pat was a busy mother and homemaker and served for 24 years as the Executive Director of the Seward Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Ambassadors. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church. Other memberships included American Legion Auxiliary, Memorial Health Care Systems Board and MHCS Auxiliary. Pat was the recipient of the Concordia College Distinguished Service Award.

Pat passed away on March 14, 2016 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 2 months, 23 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Olga Rolfsmeier; her husband, Dale in 1986; grandson, Matthew Dickinson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, F.E. "Jack" and Nettie Dickinson and her special friend, Loleta "Mert" Hand.

Pat's survivors include her children and their spouses, Claudia and Tom Rathbun, Lincoln, Connie and James Jessen, Lincoln, Doug and Sharon Dickinson, Seward, Todd and Becky Dickinson, Marion, Iowa, Christie and Milan Brehm, Unadilla; 14 grandchildren, Andrew and Brande Rathbun, Gregory and Sarah Rathbun, Nicole and Tim Knickerbocker, Cari and Chad Godsey, Lindsay and Captain David Newman, Tiffany and Kelly Dodds, Dr. Katie Dickinson and Brent Fox, Holly Dickinson-Gratz and Andy Gratz, Tyler Dickinson and Sandiey Peterson, Dr. Jeremy and Rachel Dickinson, Adam and Sarah Stille Dickinson, Erin and Brent Steinhoff, Randall and Megan Brehm; 25 great grandchildren; cousins; other relatives and a host of friends.
