Donald DeLoss Beach was born on September 26, 1916 at Endicott, Nebraska, the fourth of six children born to Fred M. and Grace M. (Lowe) Beach and died September 26, 2009 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 93 years. Don grew up in Wymore, Nebraska graduating from Wymore High School in 1935. He was able to attend the alumni banquet of Wymore-Southern High School in May of 2008, as an honored guest, having graduated 73 years prior. After graduation, Don did some serious exploring of the lands of our beautiful United States. He really enjoyed his travels and had many colorful stories to tell. Upon returning to Seward he worked with his dad and brother in the Beach & Son Dairy. He was united in marriage to Velma S. (Wullenwaber) McBride on July 8, 1939 in Seward, Nebraska. Don always loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. In the early 1940's, Don and Velma started farming with a team of horses, working for the Jones family. They remained farming with this family until retiring and moving to Seward in 1984. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grace Beach; wife, Velma Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Don Hagemoser; great grand daughter, Amy Carr; brothers, Max and Richard Beach; sisters, Belle Hegg and Margaret Meininger; Don is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Jelinek of Seward; daughter-in-law, Elaine Hagemoser of Seward; sister, Florence Norris of North Ridge, CA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois and Ken Schultz of Columbus; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Mike Stahly of Lincoln, Denny and Steve Carr of Seward, J. Don and Lori Hagemoser of Lincoln, Terry and Chrissy Jelinek of Claremore, OK, Mike and Tammy Jelinek of Lincoln; great grandchildren, Tyler Stahly; Shawn, Jesse and Tim Carr; Katye Hagemoser; Matt Densberger and Amy Densberger; Clayton, Trey and Sarah Jelinek; Bryce and Kailey Jelinek. To this obituary we add out thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Don. |
