Obituary

Donald Ray Huebert was born October 3, 1936, to Gustav D. and Esther (Mierau) Huebert in their farmhouse southwest of Henderson in Hamilton County. He passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at his rural home near Henderson at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 24 days.

He grew up doing farm life and went to a country school, 73 west. He accepted Christ at an early age, 7 or 8 years old, at a revival tent meeting. Later in his teen years, he rededicated his life to Christ at another tent meeting led by the Bronx Brothers in 1954.

At the age of 17, he was baptized with the rest of his Sunday school class at Bethesda Mennonite Church by Arnold Nickel.

He married his best friend, Margaret Regier, on June 15, 1956. In that same week, they left for 1-W Service at Rose Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado. After their service, they moved to Oregon for a short season. They started their family there. Jesse Dean and Martin Lee were born in Oregon. In August of 1961, they moved back to Nebraska to homestead a few acres with Margaret's brother, Levi and Patricia Regier. In June of 1966, one more son, Hans Erik was born.

Don enjoyed being his own boss as a remodel carpenter. He had many artistic gifts, from carving to painting and building every contraption he could think of. He also had a great love for anything on 2 wheels. Eventually even building several motorcycles of his own.

Proceeding him in death are his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Miriam Davis; brothers-in-law, Pete, David, Levi and Fred and wife Betty Regier; great grandson, Jedidiah Paul Huebert.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Margaret; sons, Jesse and wife Sandra, Aurora, Martin and wife Cindy, Hans and wife Jodi Huebert, both of Henderson; 10 grandchildren, Laura and Justin Millhouse, Lincoln, Alex Huebert, Henderson, Brad and Audrey Rule, Mesa, AZ, Eli Huebert and Craig Huebert, Henderson, Jeff and Lisa Caldwell, Denton, TX, Dean and Abby Huebert, Henderson, Mitchell and Kasey Huebert, Bradshaw, Aaron and Maggie Beckler, Seward and Maverick and Paige Huebert, Bradshaw; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Elroy and Margaret Huebert, York and four sisters, Lillian Reutzel and Alene Siebert, Lincoln, Eunice Williams, Henderson and Annette Basinger, New York; three sisters-in-law, Ardena Regier, Oshkosh, Maxine Regier, York and Patricia Regier, Henderson.
