Donald E. Lord was born March 1, 1928 in Arcadia, Kansas to Clyde C. and Stella M. (Davidson) Lord and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 16, 2007 at the age of 79 years, 8 months, 15 days. Donald was united in marriage to Martha Caylor on August 12, 1977 in Hutchison, Kansas. Donald retired in 1993 from Consolidated Freightway after 20 years of employment with the firm. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was a soldier in the army of the Lord Jesus Christ, a soldier of the cross. He was an avid vegetable gardener and loved sharing and helping others. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde C. and Stella M. Lord; his son, Ronald Lord; three sisters and four brothers. Donald is survived by his wife, Martha Lord of Garland, NE; his daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn and David Porter and Marjorie Gilley, all of Ooltewah, Tennessee; his daughter-in-law, Sheryl Lord of Ooltewah; son-in-law, Harry Gilley of Ooltewah; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Ruby Lord of Great Falls, Montana; many nieces and nephews; cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Donald. |
