Donald Alan McCall was born on August 31, 1934 in Culver, Kansas the son of Raymond and Winifred (Wells) McCall and passed away on February 25, 2017 in Milford, NE at the of 82 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Donald lived in several communities while growing up as his mother was a school teacher. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. After school, he began working at Western Electric as a Punch Press operator for 40 years. On January 9, 1954 he was united in marriage to Bonnie K. Alley in Lincoln. Don was a great family man; he loved to take his kids fishing, camping, water skiing and ice skating on area lakes in the Lincoln area. Don enjoyed working on cars-auto body and repainting. He also rebuilt an old school bus making it into the family camper. He also enjoyed working on model airplanes, trucks and cars. He loved to play the guitar and harmonica and dance in his younger years. Don was a volunteer fireman for 10 years with the Gretna Fire Department and he was a member of the Lutheran Church. He also served in the National Guard for 10 years. He was an avid sports fan especially the Huskers and Jay Hawks. He liked watching John Wayne movies and listening to all kinds of music especially classical, Glenn Miller and Johnny Cash.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; son Mike McCall; great-grandson Cameron; sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Richard Hereth; brother Raymond McCall.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie McCall, two daughters Kathy McCall of Hampton, VA; Debra McCall and Scott Miller of Seward; two sons Donald McCall and wife Susanne of Colorado Springs, CO and Doug McCall of Council Bluffs, IA; nine grandchildren Erin, Doug, Dan, Lee, Christine, Dustin, Shannon, Mindy and Michael; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers Charles McCall of Wichita, KS and John McCall of Topeka, KS; two nieces Sue and Marvin Brauer, Joyce Hereth; nephew Tom Hereth.
