Donald Leo Murphy was born August 22, 1945 in Friend, Nebraska, the son of Dennis and Marie A. (Muff) Murphy and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on November 5, 2014, at the age of 69 years, 2 months, 14 days. Don attended District 35 Country School near Friend and was a 1963 graduate of Friend High School. On December 27, 1969, Don was united in marriage to Patricia S. Folkerts at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Janae, Larae and Dale. Murph was a drywaller by profession for over 40 years. He was employed with Eliason & Knuth and A & D Drywall and then was self-employed with Murphy Drywall. He also owned and managed rental property. Murph enjoyed time with family and friends. Murph is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Marie Murphy; his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Larry Harre; brother, M. Joseph Murphy and brother-in-law, Jerry Harre. Murph is survived by his wife, Patricia Murphy; children and spouses, Janae and Jeramy Phillips, Larae and Randy Rolenc, Dale Murphy, all of Seward; grandchildren, Bryce Rolenc, Tayte Rolenc, Jarod Phillips, Jakob Phillips, Maggie Odvody, Callie Murphy; sisters, Patricia Harre, Loretta and Al Harre, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Jacquie and Charles Mitchell, Sun City, AZ; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
